Při výběru chladiče pro hydroponický systém nelze vycházet z údajů v technických tabulkách výrobce. Je nutné brát v potaz i množství vody která obíhá systémem a plochu na které je rozprostřena.
Tím myslíme, že pokud je například u chladiče HY 150 v technických údajích velikost nádrže až 150l, tak je to samozřejmě maximum a musí se brát v potaz, že rozvod kolující vody v systému působí jako topení. Proto čím je větší plocha rozvedené vody tím je menší účinnost daného chladiče.
